Different versions of PythonCE are available for different versions of Windows CE, and generally the most recent releases require newer versions of Windows CE. The following is a list of Windows CE platforms on which PythonCE is available. Generally Windows CE is backward compatible, so newer OS versions can run the releases built for earlier OS versions.

• Windows CE .NET 4.20 (Pocket PC 2003 aka Windows Mobile 2003)
  • PythonCE versions 2.5, 2.4.3, 2.3.5, 2.3.4
  • ctypes 0.9.9.6 for PythonCE 2.4 (ctypes is included in Python 2.5 and later)
  • pywin32 for PythonCE 2.3
• Windows CE 3.0
  • Pocket PC 2002
    • PythonCE 2.3.4
  • Handheld PC 2000
    • PythonCE 2.3.4
• Smartphone Windows Mobile 5 & 6
  • PythonCE 2.5 see Downloading

NOTE: PythonCE releases above are for ARM architectures only

If your platform is not listed above or you need a newer release of Python then it may be possible, but you will have to compile it yourself. If you succeed in doing so then please let us know, and if patches are required then please submit them.
